New Yorkers Will Wake Up in a World Without Cronuts

New, 3 comments

The shuttering of Dominique Ansel Bakery has ignited a media firestorm on both sides of the Atlantic. Here's the scene outside the bakery after the news of its shuttering by the DOH broke. ABC 7 is on it, clearly. As the sun begins to set on this gloomy Friday in early April, Dominique Ansel and his crew are preparing for a weekend of fielding questions from customers, and making the necessary improvements to the space for the return visit from the DOH.

The city will be deprived of Cronuts — the real ones, not the fakers — for the next 48 hours, at least. This is truly the darkest moment of Cronut Mania thusfar.
