In what could be considered a bold move, Alberto Benenati and Yves Jadot, the team behind Raines Law Room, have opened an outpost of their croque monsieur shop, La Maison du Croque Monsieur, in Paris. The expansive menu of sandwiches, most of which are closer to fancy grilled cheeses than the traditional ham and cheese croque monsieur, is the same at the new shop in Montparnasse. And just like at the New York original, all the sandwiches are named after Anaïs Nin's lovers, to pay tribute to the fact that La Maison du Croque Monsieur is housed in the writer's former Manhattan home. Benenati and Jadot are also planning another location in the 2nd arrondissement.

Only time will tell how Parisians respond to Americans serving a French classic, but French Vogue, at least, is on board.
