Yasmin Ibrahim, who owns the Midtown lunch spot Desi Shack, decided to raise the minimum wage at her restaurant to $10 after hearing President Obama discuss the matter in his State of the Union address. She wrote a note to the President to tell him about it, and in turn received a thank you phone call from Obama himself, as well as a mention in his national address over the weekend. [NYDN]
