BBQ Blowout With Ignacio Mattos; NY Burger Week

WILLIAMSBURG — The seventh season of finger on the Pulse's BBQ Blowouts kicks off on May 13 with food from Estela chef Ignacio Mattos. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, and good for a plate of food and a beer. The barbecue takes place at Good Co. from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., and Turing Machine will be DJing. [EaterWire]

BURGERWIRE — The organizers of NY Burger Week are hosting a 10th anniversary screening of the documentary Hamburger America and serving three of the burgers featured in the film. The screening takes place on May 7 at 6:30 at Tribeca Cinemas, and afterwards attendees will be able to eat recreations of a green chile cheeseburger from New Mexico, a peanut butter-topped burger from Missouri, and the butter burger from Solly's Grille in Milwaukee. Andrew Zurica, of the now-shuttered Luncheonette in Brooklyn will also debut his new burger truck, Hard Times Sundaes. Tickets for all of it are $45 and can be bought online. [EaterWire]

EAST VILLAGE —The Redhead will host its annual crawfish boils for three weekends in May. The boils take place on May 4, 11, and 18, and last from noon until the food runs out. $35 gets two pounds of crawfish, potatoes, corn, mushrooms, andouille, and artichokes, plus there will be beer and cocktails, plus sides and desserts like hushpuppies and ice cream sandwiches.
