La Cenita Is Now a Steakhouse; Akhtar Nawab OUT

Akhtar Nawab is no longer the chef at La Cenita, EMM Group's Latin behemoth in the old Abe & Arthur's space. Chris Leahy, the chef at the group's Midtown restaurant, Lexington Brass, is now running the kitchen. EMM also changed the name of the Meatpacking District restaurant to La Cenita Steak, and it now has "a steakhouse menu with Latin Influences." Although La Cenita was one of the big opening of fall 2013, most of the critics ignored the restaurant. The new menu includes tacos, "Mexican veal parm," and five steaks.
