Roxanne Spruance, a Blue Hill alum that was last seen in the kitchen of Alison Eighteen, is planning a Nolita restaurant by the name of Kingsley. The new place will serve a menu of contemporary American fare, and Ms. Spruance plans to practice whole animal and fish butchery on site. Right now the chef wants to offer both an a la carte menu, and tasting menus in the $75 to $125 range. Spruance and her partners have not signed a lease yet, but they're currently looking at two spaces in Nolita and they expect to open Kingsley this fall.
Every Monday this month, Spruance and chef Ryan Tate are going to serve $75 six-course tasting menus at Le Restaurant inside All Good Things. Each menu will include a few dishes that Spruance is working on for Kingsley. These dinners sound similar to the ones that Sarah Simmons is hosting at City Grit with Sara Kramer, Shanna Pacifico, and Claire Handleman. Reservations for the Tate/Spruance dinners can be made on the All Good Things site.
