Eric Korsh, previously of Calliope and The Waverly Inn, will be the new executive chef at Union Square Hospitality Group's North End Grill. Last week, Floyd Cardoz announced that he was stepping down from the executive position that he held for two years to pursue other projects apart from Danny Meyer and USHG. In an announcement about the staff change, Meyer notes:
I was a huge fan of Eric's gutsy and soulful cooking at Calliope...He's a dedicated working chef whose greatest days lie ahead of him, and he will be a wonderful colleague for our team at North End Grill. It's going to be a lot of fun to introduce his cooking to an even broader audience once he hits his stride.Korsh and his wife/culinary partner Ginevra Iverson left Calliope in the East Village back in January. The chef notes: "North End Grill represents an opportunity for me to apply all that I've learned in a restaurant that has such great energy and such a bright future." Cardoz will be at the restaurant through April 30, and Korsh will take over next month.
