Restaurateur Christos Valtzoglou had a hard time at 29 East Second St. His German restaurant in the space, Heartbreak, closed within hours of receiving a Michelin star. His Greek revamp of the corner, Boukiés, got decent reviews, but it shuttered after less than two years. Now, Marc Meyer, Chris Paraskevaides, and Vicki Freeman are taking over the space with plans to open a Mexican project. The three restaurateurs currently own Cookshop, Hundred Acres, and Five Points. Meyer tells Flo Fab that they're pitching this as a "farm-to-table Mexican" restaurant. The new, as-yet-unnamed restaurant is slated to open this fall.
