Aldea's George Mendes will be one of the vendors at this spring's Mad. Sq. Eats. The Michelin-starred chef will run a stand called 100 Sardines at the seasonal outdoor market, selling a variety of Portuguese-influenced soups, salads, sandwiches, and rice dishes made with both meat and seafood.
Other new vendors include Brooklyn Oyster Company with happy hour oysters, Japanese-Mexican Smorgasburg vet Takumi Taco, and Pig & Khao with Filipino dishes like sisig (sizzling pork). Other return vendors include Roberta's, The Cannibal, and Red Hook Lobster Pound. Mad. Sq. Eats opens May 2 and runs from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. every day until the end of the month.
