After 26 years in business on Second Avenue, boutique sweets shop Blackhound New York is calling it quits. In a Facebook message, the owners announce plans to close this Sunday. They do not offer an exact reason for the closure, but the farewell post notes: "For our NYC-based customers, you can order for pick-up by appointment at our Greenpoint bakery and for local messenger delivery." The Blackhound New York owners also hint at plans to open another New York location in the near future.
