TMBBQ Pop-Up at Hill Country; Music Night at Hillside

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — On March 27, Hill Country will host TMBBQ Smokes Brooklyn, a barbecue "pop-up" put on by the Texas 'cue nerds at TMBBQ. The event will feature smoked meat from Justin Fourton (Pecan Lodge), Nick Pencis (Stanley's Famous Pit Barbecue), and Wayne Mueller (Louie Mueller Barbecue). Texas Monthly barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn will also be in attendance. $125 tickets include all-you-can-eat meat and all-you-can-drink beer while supplies last. [EaterWire]

VINEGAR HILL — This Saturday, March 8, Hillside will host a special dinner with music by Romanian born cellist Mihai Marica and a selection of small plates from new chef Mike Poiarkoff. $60 tickets include food, music, and two drinks. They can be purchased online. [EaterWire]

SOHOIsola Trattoria will start its "pasta week" on Monday. The menu will have five new handmade pasta dishes, including carrot cappellacci with roasted lamb, saffron fusilli with lobster, and squid ink spaghetti with braised octopus.
