PASTRYWIRE — Pastry mastermind Dominique Ansel will debut his newest dessert invention, a "Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shot" at Austin's SXSW festival this Sunday. The novelty pastry consists of a shot glass-shaped cookie filled with a shot of cold milk, and was apparently inspired by Ansel's first encounter with an Oreo just a few weeks ago, when he first experienced the American practice of pairing cookies with milk. SOHO — Every Wednesday starting tonight, Osteria Morini will offer its 120 day dry-aged tomahawk steak as a special. The 32 ounce steak, which comes with two sides and serves "at least two," is $115. Nick Solares gave a thorough rundown of this "profoundly funky" piece of meat on Serious Eats, back when it was a rare special. [EaterWire]
PARK SLOPE — The next Bar Food Blowout event co-hosted by Finger on the Pulse and the team at Pork Slope will feature Justin Bazdarich of Speedy Romeo as guest chef. He'll serve dishes like pork sausage sliders, fresh mozzarella "stix", and a "molten mushroom fondue log." As always, there will be a DJ, and a $20 ticket is good for one plate of food plus a beer and a shot. Buy tickets online. [EaterWire]
EXPANSIONS — STK is opening an outpost in Washington, DC this spring. Eater DC reports that this branch is no longer being pushed as a "female-friendly steakhouse," but will still serve cocktails like the "Cucumber Stiletto" alongside steaks of all sizes and foie gras French toast. [Eater DC]
