Is Roberta's Opening a Rockaway Beach Restaurant?

For the last few summers, the Roberta's team and the Meat Hook crew have operated Rippers, a burger joint on the Rockaway Beach Boardwalk. The Roberta's staff also hosted parties on the shore, and they served pizzas to beachgoers last year. Now, DNAinfo spreads the rumor that the owners of Roberta's are planning a full restaurant in a space on Beach 96th Street, right across the street from Rockaway Taco. The lot currently has a garden and a shuttered residential building. The Roberta's team and the landlord for the space have not confirmed that they've made a deal. But it sounds like this might be the right fit.

A rep for Roberta's had no comment on the rumors.
