During the frigid winter months, the daily Cronut line barely stretched to the southeast corner of Vesuvio playground. But this morning, the hybrid pastry fanatics showed up en masse, and the line turned the corner and snaked up Thompson Street. The professional line waiter in charge of the Sold_inc Twitter account tweeted: "At 7:50 AM it was 41° mostly clear with 177 people in line @DominiqueAnsel for cronuts! Definitely a record I've seen." Now that ramps are popping up on menus throughout the city, Gemma is offering outdoor seating, and monster lines are forming in front of Dominique Ansel Bakery, it seems that spring has officially arrived in New York City.
Today, Cronut King Dominique Ansel starts selling his fancy garden-themed pot de creme, as well as a new panda-shaped cream puff.
