Kips Bay Grimaldi's Shutters; Passover at Balaboosta

KIPS BAY — The Grimaldi's on 2nd Avenue and 26th Street has shuttered. The website lists the restaurant as closed and the phone is no longer in service. This is the same Grimaldi's that took over the former Manhattan Totonno's back in 2012. The other Manhattan location at the Limelight is still open. [EaterWire]

NOLITA — Einat Admony is hosting a Passover dinner at Balaboosta on April 15. She'll be teaming up former A Voce chef Missy Robbins to cook a family-style meal of dishes like chicken soup with artichoke-scallion matzo balls and braised short ribs with walnuts, sweet garlic, anchovy and dates. The seating will be communal and the meal will include readings from the haggadah and live music. The meal is $125 per person and reservations can be made online. [EaterWire]

FOIEWIRE — Ox in Portland is now serving a foie gras cocktail called "Foie the Hell of It". It's made with bourbon, brandy, and strawberry rhubarb preserves, and it's topped with shaved frozen foie gras terrine. Apparently it's a hit, and the restaurant recently upped the price to $15 in order to include more foie on top. [~EN~]
