Charles Masson, La Grenouille's co-owner/flower arranger/service maestro, left the restaurant over the weekend. Grub Street reports that his brother Philippe is taking over his role at the classic French fine dining establishment. It's unclear whether or not Charles is still involved with his family's restaurant, but Philippe explains: "My brother needs a break, he's taking some time off...These things happen, and so it is. Charles made his decision and we will see what happens.'' Word on the street is that he might be looking to open another restaurant downtown. Charles has been working at the restaurant since 1975. Philippe worked there from 1993 till 2000.
