LES Old-Timer El Sombrero Closed for Good Yesterday

After a few false alarms, and an attempted takeover by Artichoke, El Sombrero shuttered for good yesterday. Open almost thirty years, the restaurant fell prey to the rent hikes and decreased business that plague many old school New York establishments.
