A new group is applying for a liquor license in the space that formerly housed East Village Japanese favorite Sapporo East. Word on the street is that the new owners plan to reopen the restaurant with the old staff. Sapporo East and its sister restaurant Shima mysteriously closed in January. [EV Grieve]
