It's time to settle the debate over which New York pizzeria reigns supreme by using this highly scientific pizza bracket. Unlike a March Madness-style bracket where the players are seeded, in this competition, the heats are arranged so that similar pizzerias will go up against each other in the preliminary rounds. On Thursday evening, the winners from the Old School and New School divisions will go up against each other, and by the end of the day on Friday, the people will have chosen New York's most awesome pizzeria.
You may notice that two of the slots are left blank. That's because we want you, the knowledgeable readers of Eater, to nominate the pizzerias that you think deserve inclusion. Place your suggestions in the comments, or send them to the tipline.
Now, it's time to begin the first round of voting:
It's a battle of the coal oven legends in the Old School division:
And in the New School division, it's the clash of the Neapolitan masters:
The polls will stay open for 24 hours.
Note: For inclusion in the "Old School" division, pizzerias must be at least 15 years old.
