As expected, Keith McNally's Meatpacking fixture Pastis closed after yesterday's service. Earlier this week, Mcnally told Eater: "Pastis will open on the spot as soon as the building's renovations are complete." The restaurant was packed on its last night, with chefs, regulars, and employees alike. Eater co-founder Ben Leventhal tweeted this from the scene: "From Pastis. @LureFishbar has come through to pay his respects. HRH McNally not present. Someone just made an offer on a sink. #mcnallywins." For more fond looks back, check out the New York Post's article on its glory days or Grub Street's oral history.
