Here's a plywood shot of Bobby Flay's forthcoming Spanish/Mediterranean wonderland, Gato. In a Times profile from last month, Flay described opening this new restaurant as "the most important thing I've done in a decade — period." It will be his first New York City opening since 2005, when he debuted Bar Americain in Midtown. The Flay-man has made it clear that he wants to show the New York audience that he's still got his chops in the kitchen. The restaurant will host a sneak peek party for Bon Appetit at the end of the month, with a grand opening scheduled for early March.
