Laws and Regulations

photo-3.jpg81 years after the repeal of prohibition water is now legal in NYC restaurants. Section 20-08 of Chapter 20 of Title 15 of the Rules of the City of New York which expressly forbids restaurants from serving unsolicited water to patrons will be repealed at months end. It is a law so arcane and un-enforced that most restaurateurs don't even know it exists. [NYT]
