New York Palace Opens Rarities, a Wine & Spirits Venue

New, 2 comments

Expecting a windfall tax rebate this year? Or maybe you don't think that dining at Villard Michel Richard is expensive enough? If so, feel free to visit the newly minted (and we do mean minted) Rarities located within the New York Palace Hotel to sample a $485 a glass Fladgate Scion 1855 Vintage Port or how about that $27,000 a bottle 1985 Romanee-Conti Grand Cru you always lusted after?

Rarities describes itself as an "exclusive, reservation-only venue" which serves the "world's rarest wines and spirits" and is "Inspired by historic 'men's clubs.'" And there are delights beyond the wine, a custom vitrine that spans the ascent of the staircase leading to the bar contains a wealth of rare Scotch bottles. Rarities is open to the public and represents the final stage of the $140 million renovation of the New York Palace. There is predictably no mention of affordable options so check with your accountant first.
