GREENPOINT — River Styx is launching a new dinner series called "Native Cuisiner," where guest chefs will cook foods from their native lands with chef Dennis Spina and his crew. The first meal on February 11 will feature the food stylings of The Meat Hook's Tom Mylan. He'll be preparing food from Reno, Nevada, and Orange County, California. The produce will come from Good Eggs, and the wine pairings will be from the Louis Dressner portfolio. The dinner is $66, or $110 with wine pairings. Email info@riverstyxny.com to make a reservation. Check out a neat-o flier for the event at the bottom of this post. [EaterWire]
BURGER WIRE — As a special fifth birthday promotion, all locations of Umami Burger (including the lone NYC outpost) will be offering $5 Original burgers on February 5 (tomorrow). Also, any guest that orders another burger off the menu will get a $5 gift card. [EaterWire]
CRONUT MANIA — All throughout Fashion Week, The Mercer will be giving away Cronuts from Dominique Ansel Bakery to guests of the hotel in the afternoon. So if you want to skip the Cronut line...book a room at The Mercer for Fashion Week or find someone that's staying there. [EaterWire]
