Calexico Finally Succeeds in Park Slope Expansion

That Calexico outpost that has been in progress in Park Slope for almost two years is finally actually open now. The restaurant was delayed first by another Lower East Side expansion, and then by a rejected building permit, but those obstacles are behind it now.

The new place takes up the space that once held Blue Ribbon Sushi, before it merged with Blue Ribbon Brasserie next door. The menu is the same list of California Mexican-style tacos, burritos, sandwiches, and quesadillas that's served at the other locations. Next up for the mini-chain is a major expansion, with franchise deals in Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, and Philly.
