EXPANSIONS — The Cannibal is expanding to Los Angeles. Eater LA reports that Christian Pappanicholas, Cory Lane, and Francis Derby will open a location of their meat-centric restaurant inside the Platform Development in Hayden Tract. That is the same development that Michael White is attached to. If everything goes according to plan, the new LA version of The Cannibal should open next year. [Eater LA]
HELL'S KITCHEN And speaking of The Cannibal, Gotham West Market, home to the restaurant's new location, is going to host an Oscars party on Sunday night starting at 7 p.m. The awards ceremony will be projected on large screens throughout the market, and guests will be able to fill out Oscar ballots for a chance to win a gift certificate. The event is free, and all the regular food and drink options will be available a la carte, as usual. [EaterWire]
WILLIAMSBURG — Tomorrow night, Extra Fancy will host the next installment of its "Mixed Company," guest bartender series. The restaurant's bar director Robert Krueger will be making $8 rum-based cocktails with The Penrose's Pete Vasconcellos. [EaterWire]
