Urban Space, the company ran the Dekalb Market, is planning a new year-round market in the western pedestrian passageway of The Helmsley Building. The vendor list has not been announced yet, but the Times reports that the market will have about 20 or 30 "small artisan food producers." Eldon Scott, the president of Urban Space, tells Flo Fab: "You don't have small food tenants in Midtown because the size of spaces makes it difficult and the rents are too high...This will give them a chance." It should open in about a year.
