Hybrid Pastry Romeo Gives Roses to Patient Customers

New, 2 comments

Dominique Ansel, always the gentleman, gave the people waiting in this morning's Cronut line roses, because it's Valentine's Day, and they trudged through the slush and ice to stand in line. The chef tweeted: "Handing out roses for our fans this Valentine's Day! More than 100 here waiting for someone special." This is a guy that knows how to show his customers that he really cares. When was the last time a chef or restaurateur gave you a flower, or anything nice, for free?

The Cronut line was very long this morning, but it didn't break the record set in August. The lines will certainly grow longer and longer as the city thaws out in the coming months. By May, it might even curve and start heading west down Prince Street.
