Beloved Williamsburg brunch spot Egg will make the move to its bigger space next week. The team sends word that the restaurant will shutter the tiny original location after lunch service on Monday, and reopen in the space that once housed Parish Hall on Wednesday.
Owner George Weld decided last month to close down his two-year-old Parish Hall and move Egg into the larger space. Now it's been renovated to feel more Egg-like, with the addition of a big communal table in the back room. Egg's chef Evan Hanczor will make the move to the new spot, and will serve tried and true dishes like eggs Rothko, biscuits, and fried chicken. But now, for the first time, there will be brunch cocktails, beer, and wine as well. No word yet on what will happen to the old Egg space.
