With an A Grade in the Bag, Mission Chinese Food Is Supposedly Opening Any Day Now

Will there be kung pao pastrami for the holidays?

Danny Bowien may be spending his mornings cooking Vietnamese breakfast at Mission Cantina, but progress continues apace down at the new Mission Chinese Food. Now the restaurant sports a smart A grade from the Health Department in the window (take that, Orchard Street hellhole), which means the opening can't be far away. The DOH, after all, is usually one of the last on the scene before a restaurant opens.

Meanwhile, an Eater spy also got a peek inside recently, and it looks like things are just inches away from completion. The tables and chairs are in place; all they've gotta do is hang that paper dragon from the ceiling. Word on the street is that Bowien wants to open before Christmas, and an employee on site told Eater it could be any day now.
