Popular East Village Filipino restaurant Maharlika is currently closed, with the windows papered over. One notice in the window shows that the restaurant was shut down by the Department of Health, but a note from the restaurant blames "building complications" for this closure.

Luckily for fans of Filipino food, Maharlika's sister restaurant Jeepney is still alive and well.
