Bromberg Brothers to Add The Ribbon, an UWS American Restaurant, to Their Blue Ribbon Empire

The prolific duo are planning big new restaurant on 72nd Street.

Though the Tony's Di Napoli family still has a the sign hanging the window of the former Sambuca restaurant at 20 West 72nd Street that reads "sorry for the inconvenience during our transformation", it's actually the Blue Ribbon Bromberg brothers (Eric and Bruce) along with partner Ken Sturm (Iridium, Campeon) whose crew is at work inside. They're transforming the former family-style Italian place into an American restaurant to be called The Ribbon.

The 200 seat space, due to open late February, will have an elegant industrial design, a bar top converted from a Brooklyn factory floor and a broad menu featuring a rotisserie and raw bar. There will also be a private dining room that seats 12. This will be the first major addition to the genre-spanning Blue Ribbon Empire in over a year, and it sounds like it's going to be a big one.
