Enrique Olvera Takes a Break From Cosme to Visit Mission Chinese Food, the New Reigning Hotness

The chef behind the hottest Mexican restaurant in town visits the hottest new restaurant in town.

Anyone who's anyone was dining at one place this weekend, and that place, of course, is Mission Chinese Food. Because when Danny Bowien unexpectedly unleashes kung pao pastrami, pizza, cocktail carts, table side prime rib service, and so much more on the Lower East Side, even Enrique Olvera has to check it out. The chef behind the hottest Mexican restaurant to open in New York in recent history dined on the basement level of Mission Chinese Food last night (take note: this is a big restaurant. Looks like there's even a bar down there), maybe to check out the white hot competition, but more likely because he, like everyone else, couldn't resist the siren call of Chongquing chicken wings.
