Restaurateur and sometime TV personality Donatella Arpaia has just teamed up with Maurizio de Rosa, a partner in Sushi Nakazawa, to open a pizza restaurant called Prova by the end of this year. It will occupy the same space in Chelsea where Arpaia has already had a hand in two pizza restaurants previously: First her eponymous Donatella (the one with the all-gold pizza oven) and then, after that closed a year ago, Heartwood (the one with the Peter Luger-inspired pizza). Heartwood has been closed since early November, so presumably Prova has been in the works for at least as long.
According to the Times, Ribalta chef Pasquale Cozzolino is also a partner. From the sound of it, the menu will consist of Neapolitan pizzas along more traditional lines than its immediate predecessor. It will also include antipasti, and eventually pasta dishes as well.
