Beloved Soho brunch spot Jack's Wife Freda is opening its second location today, over in the West Village. The goal is for the new outpost to have the same laid back vibe as the original. It has the same white tile and orb-like lights, and much of the menu has remained intact, including the grilled halumi, green shakshuka, and that kale Greek salad with Moroccan olives. But there are a few new additions, too, including orange-blossom pancakes and curried mussels. To start, the restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch only, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., but expect dinner to be added on December 26. Maybe the lines here will be a bit shorter, but don't count on it. In the meantime, check out the menus and a couple of shots of the new space.
