Tribeca: Ned Baldwin who logged five years at Prune (two as the chef de cuisine) and ran a popular pop-up on the North Fork is taking over 508 Greenwich next Spring to open the Houseman. Baldwin says his cooking is "strongly influenced by classic French and Italian and British cuisine, his Seattleite grandmother's jicama crudité plate, his wife's grandmother's holiday brisket, and just about everything he's ever eaten in Chinatown." Sample menu dishes include liver mousse, pickled bluefish in cream, and slow sticky pork, but it's pretty early on so those will likely change. Meanwhile, 508 is still operating. [Tribeca Citizen]

Flatiron: Signage is up at Jesse Perez's fast-casual Mexican spot Oxido. The restaurant, which is directly across the street from Eataly, is slated to open in February and will serve burritos, bowls, tacos, and the like. [Twitter]

East Village: Plywood finally came down outside vegan ice cream shop DF Mavens on the corner of Second Avenue and St. Mark's Place, which has been in the works for over a year. A recent press release promised the shop would open this past Monday, but there's still brown paper in the windows at the space, so that clearly didn't happen. But expect it to be any day now. Park Slope: The team from Bogata Latin Bistro is putting the finishing touches on Miti Miti Taperia at 138 5th Avenue, aka the old Voodoo Lounge space. The restaurant is slated to open before the new year and will serve plates that are meant to be shared. [Park Slope Stoop]
