EAST VILLAGE — Elmhurst's C+M's Bang Kuay Tiew will pop-up for at Jimmy's No. 43 on December 28 from 2-9 p.m. Expect soups like moo toon, a lightly sweet broth with pork and mushroom, traditional tom yum, and nam tok moo, a pork soup with blood. CROWN HEIGHTS — Kosher restaurant and bar Mason and Mug is celebrating Hanukkah with pumpkin spice doughnut with a chai-infused glaze. There are also latkes topped with house-made gravlax and dill mustard, and spaghetti squash latkes with smoked apple black pepper jam. [EaterWire]

EAST VILLAGE — Newcomer French-Japanese restaurant Bara is launching a prix fixe menu this Friday. The five-course menu starts with a shio miso soup. Also on the menu is a flat iron steak with broccoli rabe or duck breast. For dessert, there's a tea service with a choice of sesame and red bean macarons or white miso and rosemary panna cotta.
