Threes Brewing, the new brewery and brewpub in Gowanus, got off to a rocky start last week. On Thursday, the night before opening, they had a small fire during friends and family and were forced to put a hold on a much-anticipated Roberta's residency. The owners quickly found someone to take the spot. Daniel Delaney from BrisketTown brought by some brisket sandwiches and deviled eggs down from Williamsburg to get them through the weekend. Despite the last minute change-up, the place was packed on Saturday afternoon.
Delaney will stick around, doing a residency of his own through December 28. On the 29th, The Meat Hook team will step in and serve sandwiches et al. through January 12 (plus, host a special New Year's Eve dinner). Once the Threes team deals with insurance, the Roberta's team will fire up the wood-burning ovens and start turning out pies from January 13 to 25.
Stay tuned for more details on New Years.
