Jeremiah Tower's Ready to Be Tavern on the Green's Savior

The chef isn't daunted by the restaurant's bad reputation.

Jeremiah Tower came out of a 20 year retirement recently to try to rescue Tavern on the Green, which has been a sinking shitshow since it re-opened in AprilTower's pretty confident in his savior abilities, but plans to keep the food on the plate fairly simple. "Tavern shouldn't be cooking the kind of food that is going to blow people away in two years in Europe or something...People aren't coming here for the latest cutting-edge food, with molecular cuisine and all those techniques," he told the Post. Plus, he thinks the restaurant would stand "a little frivolity, don't you think?" His new lunch menu is available now and his dinner menu is slated to debut in the New Year.
