Brunch at The NoMad Bar, Tasting Menu at Piora and More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

1) Sunday Brunch at The NoMad Bar
When: Tomorrow at noon
Where: The NoMad Bar
What: The NoMad bar is launching brunch this weekend. The menu includes french toast with fried chicken, eggs benedict sandwiches and brunch drinks-various bloody mary riffs and coffee cocktails. The NoMad Bar does not take reservations so expect a bit of a wait.


2) Sunday Supper at Fung Tu
When: Tomorrow, 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Where: Fung Tu
What: Chef Jonathan Wu has created a special Sunday night tasting menu which offers new dishes like china-quiles and fried chicken with Chinese sausage gravy as well as old favorites like the pork belly egg roll, Chinese spätzle with Sichuan pork sauce and whole steamed fish with tangerine peel, chili oil and fermented black beans.


3) Pig Roast Tiki Party
When: Tomorrow, 2:00 p.m. 
Where: Kings County Saloon
What: Kings County Saloon is throwing a luau this Sunday complete with porcine food offerings and live surf rock played by High Waisted. Suckling pig sliders and porchetta will be provided by Sandy Hall as well as ice cream sandwiches from Melt. The bar will offer tiki punch and jello shots. Tickets cost $25.


4) Tasting Menu at Piora
When: Tomorrow, 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Where: Piora
What: Piora is introducing a rotating 2-3 course tasting menu this weekend for $55 or $75, respectively. Pro tip: add the off menu cote de beouf, served with olive oil potato, spigarello, and maple hollandaise for $150.


5) Brunch at Botequim
When: Today
Where: Botequim
What: Botequim is also launching brunch service this weekend with live Bossa Nova music and local dishes like like cheese bread, cod croquettes, and a Brazilian French toast called rabanada crocante. Each entree comes with a free drink.
