Blue Bottle Now Serving Espresso and Ultra Strength Cold Brew Across From Bryant Park

The hip San Francisco import officially opens its new Midtown cafe tomorrow, but has been serving free coffee all day.

Coffee nerd favorite Blue Bottle Coffee has just soft opened its newest cafe (and seventh NYC outpost) on 40th Street, just across from Bryant Park. Technically the shop doesn't officially open until tomorrow, but today it's hosting "friends and family", which just means that it's serving free coffee to anyone who walks in until 4 p.m. Pastries are also available, but those are not free. Tomorrow, it will be business as usual.

Blue Bottle

The set-up inside is standard Blue Bottle, with a small selection of pastries, an espresso machine, pour-overs, and really strong cold brew coffee on tap. Coffee beans, chocolate bars, and a couple books are also available for sale, and there's limited seating at counter along the wall opposite the coffee bar.

The new Alidoro, which graced Midtown with its enormous Italian sandwiches less than a week ago, is only a block away from this Blue Bottle, so this has really been a banner week for office workers in this particular stretch of the neighborhood. Blue Bottle Coffee, 54 West 40th Street, Midtown
