Butter & Scotch, the Brooklyn bar that promises to serve pies and cocktails (a recipe sure to lead to a lot of first dates and a lot of hangovers), is finally near opening. Allison Kave of First Prize Pies tells Eater that the kitchen equipment arrived on Wednesday and she nearly made out with the oven, she was so excited.
Kave and her partner Keavy Bleuher of mini cupcake specialist Kumquat Cupcakery, are selling their pies in flavors like s'mores and pecan bourbon out of the space this Thanksgiving, but it's almost exclusively by an order system that has unfortunately already closed. There will be a few extra pies available for walk-ins and for those who like it a la mode, there are ice cream pints from La Newyorkina. The shop won't officially open for a little while, so there's still some time to meet someone on OK Cupid to bring with you.
