Queens of the West Village restaurant scene Jody Williams and Rita Sodi opened their Italian charmer, Via Carota very quietly earlier this week, just down the street from Williams' restaurant Buvette and around the corner from Sodi's I SodiThe pair hasn't released a final menu yet, but a quick peek on Instagram reveals a larger menu than the one at Buvette, broken down into traditional Italian categories like salumi, formaggi, vegetables, game, and fish. There are also simple pastas like a wide cut tagliatelle with shaved trufflesFor dessert there are persimmons and dates, plus an overstuffed glass of tiramisu. The plan is to operate all day, serving cornetti and coffee in the morning.
