174- 176 First Avenue, the home of pastry shop DeRobertis for the last 110 years, has been sold and is currently in contract, reports E.V Grieve. As reported previously, the building listing promises the space will be delivered vacant, making it seem unlikely that the neighborhood mainstay will remain in business, at least not at the current address, despite earlier denials. The building, which was owned by the DeRobertis family, has been on the market for some time and sold for a reported $12 million. Eater reached out to DeRobertis, but a worker at the restaurant had no comment. The owners have not yet responded.
