Lucky Cheng's won't be taking over 154 Ludlow Street after all. Today Bowery Boogie notes that it's liquor license application has officially been crossed off the November CB 3 agenda, because, as DNAinfo learned, the landlord has backed out of the lease. The legendary drag club has been operating as a pop up at the DL nearby since losing its lease in Times Square earlier this year, and had hoped to take space that formerly housed the Living Room (which recently moved to Brooklyn). But apparently the landlord got cold feet at the last minute. Richard Huguenot, Lucky Cheng’s general manager, tells DNAinfo that the team is on the look out for a space, and is currently eyeing several neighborhoods, though would ideally like to stick to the LES.
