Greenpoint Favorite Five Leaves Will Expand to Accomodate More Brunchers

Five Leaves, the perennially popular Greenpoint brunch destination, is expanding to the space next door. Greenpointers reports that the adjacent Sharkey's Driving School has recently relocated to Norman Avenue, freeing up space for the Five Leaves team to move in. At the moment the space is hosting a pop-up art gallery, but that's only until renovations begin. Co-owner Kathy Mecham tells Greenpointers that the expansion will make room for a "bigger kitchen, bigger room, bigger bar," which should also give them the capacity to do more catering. Locals are surely just hoping it will make the wait not quite so long. But no word yet on exactly when those renovations will start, or how long they're supposed to take, so keep an eye out.
