After Two Years on Cleveland Place, The Cleveland Is Forced to Look for a New Home

The restaurant will shutter November 16 as it looks for a new space.

Paul Shaked sends word that The Cleveland, the two year old casual American restaurant where Max Sussman runs the kitchen, will be closing up shop after brunch on November 16. The team has struggled with the landlord and the building itself, and there are now plans to tear it down and build a luxury hotel. Shaked says the team is looking for a new space that will likely be on the Lower East Side/Chinatown, but they haven't settled on anything yet. They hope to reopen next summer or fall, likely with the same concept and name, but nothing is certain. In the meantime, Sussman will be focusing on his own non-restaurant projects. Stay tuned for more details.
