Day of the Dead Party, Colonial Harvest Dinners and More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

1) Day of the Dead Party
When: Tonight
Where: Café el Presidente
What: Café el Presidente is throwing a Día de Los Muertos celebration complete with music, decorations, themed food and drinks. Tickets cost $60 and include a copy of Mexico: The Cookbook, and are you all you can eat and drink.

2) Brunch Le Fond
When: All Weekend, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
Where: Le Fond
What: Greenpoint bistro Le Fond is launching brunch service today.The menu includes maple beignets, house-smoked artic char, and fried chicken with cheddar grits.

3) Colonial Harvest Dinner
When: Sunday, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Chapter One
What: Chef Warren Baird will be putting out a colonial menu of dishes like roasted venison, sweet corn pudding, and sunchokes. Dinner will run you $32 a person, including hard cider. You can make reservations by calling (212) 842-9146.

4) The Mac Off
When: Tomorrow, 5 p.m.
Where: Littlefield
What: This mac and cheese competition pits amateurs and professionals to see who can make the best version of the dish. Tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door, including a complimentary beer.

5) Vendy Award Winners at La Marqueta
When: Tomorrow, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Where: 116th and Park Avenue
What: La Marqueta, the open-air market  in East Harlem is hosting Vendy award winning food trucks including Ice & Vice, Macrina's Elotes, Martha's Gorditas & Quesadillas, and Wafels & Dinges. There will be live latin music and beer from Brooklyn Brewery.
