Manchester Pub Remains Dark After Mega Kitchen Fire; Barchetta Launches Brunch

Plus old school pastries for old school prices, and free pizza brunch in Crown Heights.

MIDTOWN EAST – It now has been a few weeks since Manchester Pub closed due to an epic kitchen fire, and the restaurant has yet to re-open. A tipster passing by the space today reports that the space is still dark inside, with no signs of work going on. [EaterWire]

CHELSEA – Starting this weekend, Barchetta will start serving brunch. Chef Dave Pasternack is adding new menu options such as pumpkin French toast with apple-raisin compote & maple syrup, quiche with fall vegetables, as well as cocktails like a concord grape bellini. RIDGEWOOD – Rudy’s Bakery and Café, maker of excellent Black Forest cakes, is offering baked goods at Depression era prices from noon until 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 25 in honor of its 80th anniversary. CROWN HEIGHTS – Neapolitan pizza restaurant Barboncino is offering free brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 11 in honor of the restaurant’s third annual neighborhood appreciation day.
