NIMBYs Are Pissed About Momofuku Ko's Construction Work on Extra Place

The buildout of Momofuku Ko's new 25 seat home on Extra Place is really ticking off the neighbors, reports Bowery Boogie. At least one unhappy local has plastered the construction site with signs saying just how pissed they are in alternating blue letters and ALL CAPS RED for emphasis:

The hours allowed to work with any noise in this premises are 9am - 5pm!!! Last week, those hours weren't respected many times and the management of the building was notified. A camera was installed in the apartment and is registering time and sounds. ANY noise made outside the hours above, the police and the NYC Buildings Department will be notified immediately and you will be subjected to fines and even revoking of work permit!

For the record, Momo can legally work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.

Ko is expected to move later this fall, most likely with little warning, so watch this space.
